Year in the Passing

Hello All,

This past year has been mixed with blessings and growth through struggling. The biggest and most influential news is that Faith and I got married on March 28th. We were married in a small nature preserve in Southern  California. It was an amazing life changing event. I now understand the phrase "whole, complete and perfect". I am no longer "me" alone but have become "us". Faith is a treasure in my life and my soul mate; we are doing great and amazing things.

Faith quit her job at Bat Conservation International in April and started a work exchange program at the Kushi Institution in Becket, Mass. in May.  She has just finished the work portion of the exchange. She will attend two month long classes in January/February of next year. She was in Massachusetts for eight of the nine months we have been married. It has been a struggle, but our love has grown leaps and bounds. Her stay away, however, allowed us some traveling. We visited Martha’s Vineyard twice, Boston and my Brother in Connecticut.

I am working at Overwatch Systems as a Software Engineer and it is treating me well. It is a fast growing, profitable company that has a lot on its plate. There is plenty of work to go around and more on the way.

We have continued our path in Macrobiotics. I am looking forward to completing the Natural Epicurean culinary school mid-next year. The program has been influential in our lives and I am much appreciative. I have also been studying Zen Shiatsu, which is an Asian body working therapy. I have enjoyed it to no end. I am currently exploring getting American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association (AOBTA) certified and transition becoming a full-time practitioner. It is a powerful and effective healing modality.

I completed Landmark Education’s Curriculum for living program. It has been amazing and I am living into what life has to offer and getting what I want out of life. Since taking the Forum last December, life has been in over-drive.

Faith and I are leaving Austin,  Texas. The house we have lived in for nearly two years is sold and we'll have plenty of time to get things in order before heading to Becket, Mass to study at the Kushi Institute. We have been offered a position to run the café at the Macrobiotic summer conference in Poultney,  Vermont so we will be able to put into action what we have learned in our culinary program. In the meantime, we will wait for our acceptance letter to the Peace Corps. We aim to be out of the country by this time next year.

We are having our way with life and everything is great. May this year end with acceptance and reflection and the New Year be filled with play, peace and joy.
